With one week left to go in the season, Northmont has clinched the Central division (and the overall conference title barring two losses next week), Sidney has clinched the North, and it will come down to the last week between Miamisburg and Springboro in the south. The division champions and anyone else who has qualified for OAC regionals already (Fairmont- preseason tournament) will sit out the conference tournament on March 14th.

Current Standings:

North
Sidney 11-1
Piqua 7-5
Troy 6-6
Vandalia-Butler 4-8
Greenville 2-10
Trotwood 0-12

Central
Northmont 12-0
Centerville 9-3
Fairmont 9-3
Wayne 2-10
(This division is not an OAC qualifier since Beavercreek and Springfield continue to refuse to field teams)

South
Miamisburg 8-3-1
Springboro 8-4
Lebanon 6-5-1
West Carrollton 6-6
Xenia 4-8
Fairborn 1-11

Are they so far apart from the central division schools that one school from either division (north or south) couldn't bump into the central division as to have 6-5-5 instead of 6-4-6?

Given that everyone plays everyone anyway, it really isn't a big deal. The commissioner wants to keep everything parallel with the athletic leagues, so he probably wouldn't want to shift anything. Since we have won the Central (or the north before they went to 3 divisions) the last eight years and we are already qualified, it isn't a big deal on our end. If it were the south that had the teams who didn't want to participate, it would be a bigger deal.

Next year, the conference is expanding with the addition of Tipp and Stebbins (and possibly others from what I have heard). That, together with realignment that goes along with it, should fix the issue. Sounds like Springfield has a team now, so they will be in. Kind of sad that Beavercreek given their history will be the only team in the conference without a team, when schools like Trotwood, Fairborn and Xenia that aren't exactly known for their academics have fielded teams each year. Finally making this part of the all-sports trophy like a lot of other leagues do might fix that issue.

Actually, Tipp won't be playing in the GWOC until the start of the 2016-2017 athletic calendar. I believe this is due to the fact that most athletic schedules are made two years out and CBC didn't want us to leave until then.

We are certainly looking forward to playing in GWOC. Stebbins has never fielded an academic team in CBC and doesn't currently have a program, to my knowledge. If they do, I've never seen them play anywhere.
