Sidney ended Northmont's 151 game conference winning streak (dating back to 2009) with a 93-78 win tonight. Beavercreek knocked off Northmont a round later, which combined with their win over Sidney earlier this year gives Beavercreek the overall conference championship. Sidney won the North for the 4th consecutive season, Northmont wins the Central for the 9th straight year, and Beavercreek picks up their first overall conference championship in the conference. Final standings are below. Congrats to all teams on a great season with some very competitive matches.

I know there is a GWOC that functions as an athletics conference. Assuming it's the same one, does this count for the all-sports trophy? Do the quiz bowl divisions mirror the athletics divisions?

It does not count towards the All-Sports trophy. It was discussed a few years ago but was shot down by the ADs, since the teams that are the best in sports (Wayne, Trotwood in particular) are generally not good at quiz bowl, or in Trotwood's case, didn't even field a team this year.

The divisions have been aligned with athletic conference divisions in past years, but this year with the addition of Tipp and Stebbins to the conference, they did a weird alignment with one division of 6, two divisions of 5 and one division of 4. Since that won't work for OAC regionals qualification, they reverted back to the north/central/south that they used to do. The North division in the Academic GWOC is in tact, but the east and west were combined into the central, but then they peeled off Miamisburg and Springboro and put them in the south to make sure there were at least 6 teams in each division.

Just to chime in, in SW OHIO most quiz bowl teams have their leagues tied with their athletic conferences and in several conferences such as the SWOC (which Little Miami is in), the ECC and the GMC they all have quiz bowl as a part of all sports points. I know that in our conference, our school administration is very supportive of keeping quiz bowl as a part of all sports because they believe it promotes academic success. Also, the GMC has competitive chess as a part of their all sports trophy.
