Mason Invitational - 2/20/16

Postby QuizBoss » Tue Jan 19, 2016 7:44 am

The Mason Academic Team is proud to announce the first (hopefully) annual Mason Invitational, with tournament direction provided by OAC Executive Director Greg Bossick, on Saturday, February 20.

This tournament will be in the NAQT format, played on NAQT set 153A; as such, it will be a qualifier for OAC Regionals, NAQT nationals - both their overall championships and the small-school specific ones - and the PACE National Scholastics Championship. We hope that your team will take advantage of this opportunity at one of the first Saturday invitationals held in the Greater Cincinnati area open to all teams in nearly a decade.

The entry fee for this event is $70 for the first team from a school and $65 for subsequent teams. Discounts of $5 and $10 are offered for bringing working, 8-player buzzer systems and experienced moderators, respectively. Please make checks out to Mason City Schools with the memo filled: Academic Team.

We will prefer for teams to stay on campus during lunch to keep the event running on schedule. With this said, a Papa Johns Pre-order pizza deal will be available, with large one topping pizzas (pepperoni, sausage, or cheese) being sold for $10. In addition, a Subway preorder box lunch deal is in the works, and more information will be forwarded to teams who sign up for the event as the date gets closer.

Any questions relating to the competition aspects of the tournament should be directed to Greg Bossick at quizboss.att.net In addition, any questions relating to the facilities at Mason, lunch, and payments should be directed towards George Valcarcel at valcarcelgeorge@gmail.com.

To claim your spot(s) in the field, please fill out the registration form at this link: http://goo.gl/forms/J04NmtZMKt. We are limiting the field to 24 teams, so don't risk being waitlisted. Register now!

Initial field cap is 24, possible expansion to 30/32 if interest warrants and staff is available.
