Don't be shy people...who made it to States?!

In unsurprising news, St. Charles and Fisher made it out of the SE. St. Charles went undefeated, beating Fisher by 2 in the winners bracket final, then again by 3 in the overall final. Granville finished 3rd, and Fairland and one of the Olentangy (Liberty/Orange) schools finished t.5th.

In the Northeast? Copley and Cloverleaf made it to states, we beat cloverleaf in the playoffs and then they came back through the loser's bracket and we beat them again. Wooster got third.

You gotta give some ups to Proctorville Fairland, that is a very long drive from an economically troubled portion of the state, and they knew some stuff for sure. To finish t-5th considering that is worth some praise.

I thought that Proctorville was pretty much becoming a bedroom community for Huntington, WV, and so it may have been better off now than it had been.

My point is when considering the SE Regional, not only has it been historically dominated by Central Ohio schools, (or at least of recent), the two schools that have definitely ruled the roost in the region are two private schools (Fisher and St Charles); so it's pretty neat a school that traveled ~3 hours and is a lot more representative of schools from the SE part of the state as opposed to two Columbus-area private schools went as far as they did.

Northmont won West Central, beating Sidney in the winner's bracket final and the championship game by 13 and 12, respectively. Major props to Kings who finished third, knocking out Tipp, Centerville and a couple other teams along the way. They led Sidney after the categories and only lost by 6 in the consolation final. I'm certain they would have made it to state had they been sent SW- they knew stuff.

From what I have seen, it will look like this:

Regional Winners: Copley, Northmont, St. Charles, Walnut Hills, Solon, Findlay

Runners-up: Cloverleaf, Sidney, Fisher Catholic, Little Miami, Aurora, Rocky River

The NC was extremely competitive most of the day. Solon was the clear class and looked balanced all day. I think their closest game was an 18 point win over OF.

It was a dog fight for 2nd though between Olmsted Falls, Hubbard, Beachwood, Westlake, Aurora, and even Revere when it comes to OAC is a tough out. All of them consistently scoring 50+ per round. Both of Westlake's losses (OF and Beachwood) were by a single point. That was rough to see they could have been the runner-ups. Hubbard's bane was OF, losing by 3 to them in Round 2, they faced off again in Round 5. It looked like it was going to be a blowout as going into the lightning round OF had a 15 pt lead, but Hubbard surged back and answered 11 of the first 13 tossups. OF was able to recover and answer the last 6. Aurora beat Beachwood in the elimination bracket by either 1 or 2 to go on and beat Olmsted Falls after building a strong double-digit lead in the category round.

Edit: Solon won the final quite easily, 70-34

Yeah it confused me too. It was originally supposed to be smfromcopley the first time I ever used this username, but I screwed up somehow. I figured it wasn't worth going through the trouble of changing since it would have required a new account and now here I am.
