On behalf of, and with the cooperation with, the academic team at Ohio State, I'd like to cordially invite you and your teams to the inaugural OAC Fall Qualifier on Saturday, October the 22nd, 2016 to be held on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus. This tournament is written in the state format, Ohio Academic Competition (OAC), and is produced by Bob Kilner, OAC Committee member representing the North Coast region. Bob has over ten years experience writing academic materials for leagues and tournaments across the Buckeye State, and this tournament will consist of high-quality questions written in the pyramidal style (with clues descending in difficulty) across the sciences, arts, social studies, and literature (among other subjects.)
This tournament will be limited to 24 teams. Because this tournament is specifically intended to serve as a qualifier for the OAC regional tournament in May 2017, teams will be broken up into four preliminary pools of six teams from six different schools. Teams will be guaranteed eight games, and the winners of each of the four preliminary brackets will play off in a round-robin to crown an overall tournament champion. Schools will be permitted to register a maximum of two teams initially; if there is difficulty attaining 24 teams as the tournament nears, then I will allow additional registrations from schools or anything necessary to fill the field. With that said, it is better to register sooner rather than later!
The tournament will take place at the Enarson Classroom Building. The address for the Enarson Classroom Building (alternatively known as the “EC Building ”) is 2009 Millikin Road, Columbus, OH, zip 43210. Please be advised that this address is not accessible by car; attendees are encouraged to park at the nearby Parking Garage on Tuttle Park Place (2050 Tuttle Park Pl, Columbus, OH, zip 43210). This parking garage is located south of W. Woodruff Ave/Woody Hayes Dr.
Ohio State football does **not** have a home game that weekend, so it'll be unnecessary to worry about any issues with traffic/maneuvering with regards to “game day parking”.
$55 per team
Discounts: For buzzers, there will be a $5 discount per buzzer set (limit two per team brought.) For readers, there will be a $10 discount. With regards to the reader discount, a caveat: I need to know who the reader is **in advance**. I reserve the right to turn away any reader request.

I hope to see you in October!
