1st annual Give Thanks for Quiz Bowl Invitational @ Olentangy Liberty HS in Powell, OH (BELLOCO) on 11.15.14
You are cordially invited to our first tournament ever at OLHS the Give Thanks for Quiz Bowl Invitational. The initial field cap will be 24 teams, but I will try to open that up if there is interest and I can secure enough competent readers.
Teams will be broken into 4 preliminary brackets of 6 teams each and will play round robin. At the conclusion of morning play, teams will be re-bracketed into 4 brackets of 6 to play another round robin, with the top 12 teams at the conclusion of preliminary play being eligible for the tournament championship. A championship match will be played between the winners of the two championship flights in the afternoon.
Each round will consist of 20 tossup questions with 20 3-part bonuses should a team answer a tossup correctly. Tossups will be worth 10 points, with 5-point negs for incorrect interrupts. There will be no powers at this tournament.

This set is regular high school difficulty level with some amount of nonstandard answer line selection. We seek to reward players for knowledge of concepts rather than names of works, particularly in philosophy and social science questions.
This set contains twelve preliminary packets and two finals packets. Each packet includes 21 pyramidal tossups (including one tiebreaker tossup on literature, history or science) without power marks and 20 three-part bonuses.
