The Miami University Academic Team (MUAT) and Greg Bossick, former executive director of the Ohio Academic Competition, are pleased to announce the return of Miami's invitational tournament for high school academic teams on Saturday, February 11, 2017. This tournament will be played on the questions and game format of National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT) and will be a qualifier for postseason events in Ohio and nationwide, including NAQT's small-school specific national tournament.
The entry fee is $75 for the first team from a school and $65 for subsequent teams. Discounts are available for bringing a fully functional buzzer system ($5 off), volunteering to read ($10 off), or if your school has never played an NAQT tournament [questions and format] before ($15 per team). Buzzer discounts are limited to the number of teams registered plus one. Payment should be made out to the MUAT.
The number of rounds guaranteed to each team will depend on the final field size. Coaches can register via the NAQT website -- the link is https://www.naqt.com/registration/regis ... nt_id=8047
Please note that the question set being used is Set 163A; members of the Central Buckeye Conference, as well as any other school that has already played this set, cannot register for this tournament.
