This tournament has been cancelled and rescheduled for March 17, 2018. Registration has been re-opened using the same Google Form link above.

EDIT: There is a chance the set may be changed, pending confirmation from NAQT.

Sucks that you ran into what might be the worst 1-2 day storm of the winter (knock on wood), but it was definitely a smart move rescheduling it. Plus March is a lot less packed with options than January and February are, so maybe you'll get more teams. Good luck either way. See you guys at Solon?

The set has been switched to IS-175A, so teams that played at Tippecanoe or SAGACITY can now register. The other Ohio tournaments using this set are Northeast In the Know and Eastwood.

Glad to see Edgewood in. It's also pretty cool to see Toni Morrison's alma mater, Lorain High School, making the trek for what appears to be their quizbowl debut. Anyone reading this know if Admiral King, which later folded into the current Lorain High School, ever participated in quizbowl?

Notice that you have a PA team registered, as well. A few other NWPA teams you may want to reach out to as well include Rocky Grove and NW Penn Collegiate. Hope it goes well!

Thanks! Northwest Penn Collegiate actually registered for the initial date in January, but they had a set conflict. Hoping they can make it to this one, along with Berkshire, who also registered previously. I'll try Rocky Grove as well!

Inspired by Solon's excellent POTUS side event at their February tournament, we have decided to announce our own optional singles side event during lunch at this tournament - the Boardman Spartan AGOGE (Academic-Challenge Gauntlet of Greek Erudition).

This tournament will be a tossup-only shootout; we aim for one round of 32 tossups or two rounds of 16 if there is enough demand. Players will compete individually, and the cost for this event is $3 per player, and the winner will be provided an award.

We will allot approximately 45 minutes-1 hour for lunch, and we anticipate AGOGE to take about 20 minutes; participating players should finish lunch about 20 minutes after the end of round 5, then immediately head to the competition room. Players are strongly encouraged to stay on campus for lunch if they plan on playing; we will be selling pizza, chips, candy, and drinks at BHS.

This side event will consist of questions about ancient Greece, and the difficulty level will be close to an NAQT IS (regular difficulty) set. The majority of the questions will be history, literature, or mythology. Art, philosophy, math, and science will also be covered. The questions will be written by the Boardman High School Varsity quiz bowl team.

If you have any players who are interested in AGOGE, please email me at ppadmanabhan7 AT gmail DOT com with the names of the players competing. Players can also sign up on the day of the tournament. Thank you!

Waiting for Edgewood, who registered but is considering Small School State instead!
