The Ohio Quizbowl Forum

In cooperation with the Tiffin Columbian quizbowl program, I'm proud to announce the seventh iteration of the Columbian Exposition on Saturday, October 3. This will be an online tournament using Google Meet as the platform. The opening meeting/sound check will be at 9 AM, with round 1 scheduled to begin at 9:30.

The tournament will be played on the 2020 fall novice set written by the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance. Entry fees for this tournament are $60 for each team; a $10 discount for supplying a reader is available.

Currently, the field cap is 18 (increased from 16 on 9/8). However, as we secure volunteers and readers are registered with teams, I hope we can expand up to 32.

At the request of the set writers, registration is limited to teams from Ohio at the moment.

There will be more details forthcoming on how we will adapt to online play as we get closer to the tournament.

Another event using this set will be on October 17 via Fulton HS in Michigan. Jacob, the set editor, will allow Ohio teams that don't play this event to take part in that one. A formal announcement is in the works.

I'm bumping the soft cap from 16 to 18 to make it easier to divide Columbian's 3 teams. I hope to expand further once more staff is confirmed.
