The Ohio Quizbowl Forum

Five talented Ohio quizbowlers competed in the 2021 National All-Star Academic Tournament, which was held entirely online and had a field of 32 All-Star teams representing 16 U.S. states, one country (Canada), and one continent (Asia).

Team Ohio was comprised of Tegan Kapadia (Beavercreek), William Groger (Miami Valley), Grant Maiorana (Solon), Pranav Sivaram (Solon), and Samantha Street (Northmont). They finished third in the final tournament standings with a record of 12-4, marking the third consecutive NASAT that Ohio has finished on the medal podium. Tegan Kapadia was also recognized as a tournament All-Star for finishing third in individual scoring after the seeding and prelim rounds.

I want to thank all the Team Ohio players for their incredible time and effort, as well as all of the people from the Ohio quiz bowl community who supported the team by spectating the tournament, wishing well online, and stepping up to staff NASAT. Best of luck to seniors Pranav, Samantha, Tegan, and William as they head off to college!
