The summer meeting for the OAC Committee will be on Tuesday, June 27th and start at 10:00 AM at St. Charles.

We will be in the same building/room that we were in for the morning meeting/lunch at NAQT State to ensure that there is more than enough room for anyone that wants to attend!

Is V. - E simply 'two faculty members or coaches' from the same school? This seems reasonable, as - for all intents and purposes - 'representative' denotes someone whose profression is tied to a given school.

Regarding 'future' - I like this idea, but IMO the current committee members that V. -E addresses should be grandfathered in. I'm assuming that's the intention already.

Just out of curiosity, what was the history and ideology behind attributing a cash prize to the winning school? Is this something necessary? Could the cash prize instead be an earmark toward the winning school's entry fee to a nationals competition of their choice? One would think, from a far, that allocating 'prize money' could delegitimize the state tournament. The only national(s) I know of that award prize money (unless PACE NSC does it, too?) are the disreputable ones.

V-E is exactly as you are describing it Tom.

That is the intent of the prize. Because of how payment for Nationals works, teams have usually already paid at that point, so the check is made out to them but meant to be their entry fee for one of the national tournaments.

In the past, when the OAC State champion was the team that would represent Ohio at the Panasonic national competition, the $500 was supposed to offset some of the costs.

Just a reminder of the meeting on Tuesday!

As a footnote, I will get minutes up, website updated, etc. as soon as I can following the meeting but it may take a week because I have to help Michael move to Philadelphia the rest of the week after the meeting.
