We have 27 schools this season. Last ditch efforts to secure a 28th weren't successful.

First Division

1. Boardman
2. Poland
3-6. Any combination of United, South Range, Badger, and Fitch.

Boardman lost Pranav, and that would hurt any team, but everyone else has been doing work. That is how they got to a top 32 position in Atlanta, and the unbeaten streak in the League should be safe for another season.

Second Division

1. Maplewood
2-5. Any combination of Champion, Lowellville, Western Reserve, and Canfield
6. East Palestine

Maplewood were out of the competition briefly this fall. No coach, principal told me none would be hired...then a parent stepped up and found a faculty member willing to do it. They have tournament wins at East Palestine in NAQT and trash and a player who participated in IPNCT. I don't see any other team matching their will to exist and win.

Unfortunately, East Palestine's program is barely producing enough players to stay solvent, and I hope that's only temporary.

Third Division
1. Ursuline
2. West Branch
3. Mooney
4. Columbiana
--
5-8. Mineral Ridge, Sebring, Jackson-Milton, and Brookfield in any order

The division may hinge on the first match, Youngstown's first Holy Quizbowl War between Ursuline and Mooney. Brookfield would qualify for the top 4 if they were in the southern section, but they aren't. Mineral Ridge's top scorer is now at Ursuline. Ouch.

Fourth Division

1. Salem
2. Wellsville
3. Girard
4. LaBrae
--
5-7. Campbell Memorial, Springfield Local, and Harding in any order

Salem returns much of last year's team and already has beaten Wellsville this season. Wellsville has suffered from having key players missing at times. LaBrae is new, but both they and Girard should have enough to get past Campbell and Harding (assuming the latter plays games all season). Springfield Local has a new coach, but that's not enough to get past their southern counterparts.

The big push outside the League is to make one final expansion by finding 5 schools to get to 32, filling all the divisions to 8, and returning to a 14-game League season. Thanks to some advice from NAQT, the tournament will use (from 2020) the modified double-elimination format similar to what is done at SSNCT to allow it to be completed in 8 or 9 rounds, allowing us to continue to avoid purchasing a third set
